Let's DIY!

To be honest, I think a few DIY or DIM (do it myself), don't really know how that works as a verb, once in awhile are not going to affect the designers we get the inspiration from or the artistry of fashion, all the contrary, it can help you develop the crafty side you didn't know you had and may be the start of a new designer.

Anywhore, if you are craving a beautiful piece you saw that fashion it girl was wearing, but can't afford it, why break the piggy bank when is something you can create, personalize and make it your own?, all you need is (love) some cords, threats, beads, chains and a little imagination. The materials are really easy to find in fabric stores or even through the internet, the difficult part in DIY projects is where to get the inspiration to do it, and that can be remedied.

Whenever I need inspiration, I go trough the jewelry section in Net-A-Porter and Shopbop looking for those beautiful  pieces I like, those I know I can easily create and those I got the materials I need to accomplish, but always giving the pieces I create a little "ME" touch, otherwise it would be plain and simple plagiarism.
When none of this works, I just visit some really good blogs like Honestly WTF and A pair and spare where you can find very interesting DIY projects with step by step instructions that can help you avoid getting lost in the middle of it.

Here I show some of the DIY projects I've been working on. The first one is AurĂ©lie Bidermann and the original retails for $695 at Neiman Marcus, the second one, is Venessa Arizaga and this one is actually really affordable, or at least was, it's sold-out everywhere but retailed for $44 on The Outnet and the last one is from Bex Rox and sells at Avenue 32 for $320.
Now that all the cards are on the table, would you buy or DIY.
